Have a Healthy Day with Delicious Delicious GreenTea
Country of origin, region and production / harvest date should be written. Harvest date is important for freshness and quality rather than expiry date in green tea. The February-April harvest, which is called the first harvest, is known as the best quality. There is also a cheaper summer harvest.
There are generally two distinct countries in terms of the region they come from; China or Japan. Teas from these countries usually bear the name of the sub-region they came from, and the region and climate where they grow affect the character of green tea.
It is uncertain whether the first harvest in the February-April period could be exported to the West due to the radioactive leakage in Japan this year, and therefore Chinese green teas seem to be more preferable.
